Hey, Renae.

Drake is simply awesome! You know he knows everyone who lives with him now, including the dogs...he’s so tame that we don’t even see him frill anymore? The only times we see his frill is when he’s eating and when he yawns. I take him out of his enclosure in the morning and he just sits on my arm as I watch TV. But on occasion, my sons and daughter want to see him run so they put him on the floor and roll a ball and off he runs! Pretty hilarious watching a lizard run on hind legs!

hes an new guinea but he has so much red and orange on him that you¡¯d think hes an aussie
right now, his eyes appear swollen alittle and he wont eat much

whoa yeah thats what it looks like exept theres an amazing amount of orange on the belly and the pattern¡¯s more crisp.

i got him to eat but only crickets... i was prepared for the exact opposite.

I was only planning on occasional pinky feeding for Drake.

today he acted erally weird. he kinda waved his arm around like he was swinmming or something he did this like 3 times then stopped. when he did this, his toes and arm were slightly twiching kinda like waving what is this? he looks alot better than he did when i first got him. i noticed taht he is in a more upright position and is more alert and keeps his eyes open. I¡¯ve even taught him to eat from my fingers!!! still only crickets though but were making progress.

thats good too much protien in pinkys for them to be a real food item, ahh ball pythons are alot of fun i plan to get a red tailed boa when my dad can buy me a large enclousure, ball pythons are great starter snakes i learnt alot from mine ahh that would be a pretty cool birthday present u gonna go for a hatchling or a grown on specimen? what size tank u got? i have 3 houses with a caretaker for each one (my dad owns a recycling plant so we can afford to) so my frilled lizard has never met my ball python, he is however totally uncaring about the dog but the first time he frilled up, if u wanna see a frilled lizard and a snake seeing each other theres a pretty good example on youtube of a guy holding a snake to his frilled lizard, of course i wouldnt reccomend u trying that but thats what would happen, i do have chinese water dragons in the same house as my python they live in my room and i find things are easier if i dont hold the python near the tank.

haha well young man is better than kid i’m 17 so im legally old enough to drive. I was wondering i thought u may no me from one of the 3 posts ive ever put in the ball python section but yeah fluffy the python in my youtube video is now about 3 feet in length he was still tiny back then

haha mine frills up when my hand goes near him he isnt to big a fan of humans just yet but he will hand feed once he realises he isnt being picked up. thats good sounds like hes settling down more. if frilly’s act like my water dragons or the beardies i once looked after for a friend they arm wave for territory dont qoute me on that i have only had mine about a month,

Whuddup, YOUNG MAN?

I’m getting a baby male ball python. I’m getting it from this snake breeder in the area so I’m positive that the BP is captive hatched. The breeder also does birthday parties and he has all this different kinds of snakes. Some are longer than the tallest tree in our yard! I’ll have to pass on that one and as a starter snake-owner, he did say ball pythons would be great.

I have a 10-gallon tank ready for the baby until he outgrows it. And after that I will move him to the 20-gallon-long tank that I have as well. I just have too many empty tanks so I decided to get a snake so I can use them. LOL.

Dude...you don’t take care of your lizards and snakes yourself? You have a caretaker? You spoiled little kid...oops, I mean YOUNG MAN. Just kidding.

Have you ever been bitten by your ball? Oh, and my frill doesn’t even frill anymore. He’s just so used to humans and being handled by them. The only times I see his frill is when he’s eating or yawning.

ahh nice mines a male i wish he was female they tend to get a little bigger, good that u rnt going to a pet shop those places are risky, good that its captive bred all of my animals are captive bred. The only issue with ball pythons is there tendancy to not eat at times unexplainably but i never had this issue. Nah i take care of them but theres only so much time i can spend with them so i have some1 to help when im not there i spend 6 days a week here where my frilled lizard lives and 3 where the rest are kept. Lol mines getting better he just tends to do it when i reach for him in the tank otherwise hes fine, really tame when hes outside of the tank. Nah fluffy never bit me i came close a few times but it was all my fault 3 times hes nearly bit me during feedings the mouse dropped from the forceps and he didnt see it drop and keyed in on my hand that happens a little too often, another time i reached to take him out of his hide and accidently touched him while he was sleeping and he hissed and got ready to strike and the other day he was exploring the carpet in the living room and i accidently touched his tail suddenly so he struck at me but he aimed too high and missed me completely but other than that no random striking never a hint of aggresion carefull handling is what ide contribute it too just as much as the fact ball pythons are generally good natured snakes

i get moved around alot i have alot of things i gotta do theres my psychologistassessments, visiting the doctors to be weighed, A levels, a band, practising guitar lines, revision, reptiles not to mention sleep eating and grabbing a moment to get online but my reptiles are a priority above thebrest they only take a breif moment to change there water give the lizards some food and maybe get them out to roam around the room.

You got a chinese water dragon too? I’m thinking of either getting one of those or a ball python. But I’m leaning towards a BP coz Drake might get jealous to have another lizard in the house. You think?
