Would a screen cag be okay for a Frilled? and would this size be okay? 3ft long, 4ft tall, 2ft deep?

I will just build one...I’m assuming you have a frilled, so could you tell me if yours is handleable? Also could you post some pics of your viv?

yes the size would be good, but do not use screen. just make it out of wood and glass, the temps would be too hard to control, they heat would just be escaping out of the screen.

and mine is deffently not handleable.

Mine is just about the tamest thing you’ve ever seen . And i got her when she was already a year and a half. Someone must have taken good care of her when she was young!
And about the cage... I’m going through the same dillema, I’m building one this summer (4’Lx4’Tx3’W) And I’m trying to decide between screen, 1/4" plastic, plexiglass and wood. I’m still not sure, but I do agree with the temps and humidity being harder to control in a screen cage.
good luck

Ibuilt one for my iggy and they have the same needs. It is made of screen ANd plexi. Here are some pics guys. The humidity is hard to keep but deff not the heat. His cage gets super hot. Get a misting system or make one or just mist him a lot throughout the days and give him bathes throughout the week. Good luck!

As of right now he has plexi on bottom half and screen on top half.. leave one side of the bottom half screen so he can climb also.. just cover the outside of the screen with plexi if you want more humidity. The bare part on the bottom is a homeade pond and it mists/fogs out humidity for him to have some humidity..

ok to the poster above me the screen is only good if you have the same humidity and temps as there natural habitat frilleds need proper set ups and are less likely to flourish than iguana’s if they arent met.

my frilled will tolerate handling at times but its taken 6 months to get him this way and he still tends to get grumpy more often than not. But they are handalable not too big a fan of being picked up and carried around though more of a sit on your shoulder or have a run around ure room looking for edible objects kinda lizard but like i said some have them as tame as hell. My current set up i have no photos of but this is when i had just set it up for him its become a lot more elaborate since

this is the basic lay out i used at this time

this is the complete tank its the size of yours (4 foot high 3 long and 2 wide)

this is dill

a few notes you may want to note:
they need heat on the top and usually bottom of the tank theres an under tank heater covered by news paper under the wood chips in my tank and he uses it every morning for belly heat
the uv should be 0.10 which is suited for desert reptiles.

everything else can be provided by examining these photos

Ok my cage is 6ftx3ftx3ft.. and frillies and iguanas can live together when they are young. After that they should beseperated for fighting issues. Yes.. they need the humidity BUT like I said up there.. you can get a mister or make one!! I dont have that b/c my guy doesnt really need it. Yes, he likes the humidity but I bathe him daily, mist him 4 times a day for 5 minutes at a time. So, he is well hydrated. It takes a lot more money to mess with a cage that big than an smaller one. We are bulding his waterfall right now. After.. we will put a humidifier system in and we are geting a frilly to be with him.
