Chip’s baby!/not bad for a rock star!
well here is a male frilled dragon/he is actuallystill young at about seven months old he is 16 inches long /and I will get weight details later!he eats everything that moves and will fit in his mouth//he gets to go outside and soak up the sun several times a day!I think I can get him to grow very large!I use full spectrum lighting/a variety of insects/and two very inportant things for my lizard humidity and circulated air!this is my baby boy and I’m very proud to have him/someday I will introduce him to a little lady frilly and hopefully breeding /but till then I/m very happy with my baby!

Chip’s baby!/not bad for a rock star! Great looking dragon! I love his enclosure too! I wonder if the moss may cause impaction though. I know it does with frogs, but I am not an expert on lizards. Once again, nice and fat and healthy dragon you have there! :)

answer to question no.1 yes moss can cause impaction I waited a long time to add moss/but after I saw my boy eat crawfish and digest it/I figured I’ld take the risk/the first day my lizard took all of the moss and moved it around the viv’ where he wanted it/his feeder bowl is at the bottom of the vivarium and it stays clean and clear of any moss or tree bark /I’ve had the moss in there for a month now and everything is going according to plan/my personal opinion would be this/if you are going to use substrate be sure that your lizard is well established enough to where if it does eats some it can chew it up or be able to spit it out /my lizard has done beautifully with the moss /one thing I will never put in my vivariums is the bark pieces/(yrs ago I had two horned mountain dragons and I killed them both with that/so what I use is a sand bassed floor and a little moss
answer no.2 yes I have a fogger:however I only use it two time a day and for just a couple mins at a time/just enough to get the moss moist and to keep the humidity levels a little higher /I live in wyoming where we do not have any humidity(low percentage anyway)and so to keep a lizard healthy you have to introduce humidity/so he gets a short burst just to keep things as natural as I can.
thanks for the comments this is my first frilled dragon and I’m finding out that they are the coolest and I’m also finding out that there seems to be more to this lizard than any other ...my lizards name is
tatsu!and about every secound month I’ll record growth and size and show more pics///agin thanks for the comments have a good one Chip!

Chip’s baby!/not bad for a rock star! Thanks for letting me know about the moss. I just wanted to bring it up in case you hadn’t considered it. :)
Anyhow, I agree with you about frilleds being very different from the other lizards I have kept. They seem to have a bit more personality and an intelligence than the others I have kept. I use a coco fiber substrate when I finally put one down. Since my frilled is still so new, I have him on paper towels to monitor him a bit.

thats so cool/my frilly used to play peek a boo with me all the time now he does it every now and then/if I call out his name he seems to know I,m talkin to or about him //I could be wrong but when I feed him I’ll say here tatsu/and he perks up and gives me that weird hey I know you look!he’s become so tame that I can take him anywhere and not worry about him running away/I still keep a very close eye on him but he has never givin me any trouble!when I take him to his out side vivarium it’s like he knows he’s going out and he gets (agin it seems)excited!he loves it outside he plays and runs up his tree logs it,s a lot of fun and after a few hours I’ll go get him and comes right to me every time //I swear he’s my best friend/it’s been the best! thanks for the comments and since I’m new to this lizard any advise is welcome!Chip!~

Chip’s baby!/not bad for a rock star! I do like your cage, did you build it your self? I built my cage, but it’s not as cool as yours. Having moss in the cage helps keep the humidity level up too. Good luck with him.

wow you have a beautiful cage /it’s so professionally done!makes mine look crappy/what kind of wood did you use???right now I’m building an out side cage it will be 7foot tall and about 4foot by 4 foot/agin I,m just using afordable plywood and regular twobyfours /nothin to special for the foundation /but when it’s finished then I,m going to add all the bells and whistles //like waterfalls /andtotal spectrum lighting/a humidifier/etc/when I get finished with it /I will post a pic for you/your cage is awsome and from now on I want to make mine look more like yours I’m willing to bet your lizard is a happy one ! laters Chip!

Chip’s baby!/not bad for a rock star! Renae dont kid yourself, you know your cages are amazing. I’d like to point out the multiple basking spots she is using, great work! I finally got the Frilleds at the lab setup into somthing decent, was an old iguana cage. Proving to be tough to get proper lighting and humidity, but it draws a crowd in the life sci building.

Chip’s baby!/not bad for a rock star! You only need more then one basking light if you have more then one lizard in a cage. Unless the cage is big and you can’t keep the temp up. I’ll have to post a new pic of my cage, I added more branches. I’ll also post new pics of my Aussies on another listing later today.
