Can frillies eat catfood? I wouldn’t feed with cat food unless you were told to be a vet...a reptile vet.

Can frillies eat catfood? There is a care sheet that details a mixed food diet consisting of cat food mixed in with finely cut carrots and lettuce. How ever, the breeder does feed their animals individually and gently adds a small amount of the mixture to hatchlings, while the hatchlings are chewing a cricket. Thus as the lizards mature they are quiet used to the taste and will take the mixture from a food bowl. Ive never tried it myself and really don’t think I would unless there was a strong benefit over insects and natural vertebrates to use. Sounds like more work and time that I truly wouldn’t have.

Can frillies eat catfood? Do you order feeder insects from companies direct or get them from pet stores? I’d always recommend getting it from a breeder or something if possible. I order 1K crickets about once a month and currently have around 350ish mealworms from when I ordered those last week. Expect to spend around 10-12 dollars for 1,000 crickets, should last you a few weeks. Roaches are a lot cheaper to all feeder insects, as long as you set up a breeding colony. Not difficult to do and are probably the absolute best feeder insect. Let me know if you have any questions or anything, I deal with different roach species and we have been using a very good cricket breeder (switched from top hat) for over a year now.

Can frillies eat catfood?
ok heres where I,m at with all of this!!! I found out that you can feed tegus .monitors. and older versions of agamid lizards with cat food /however it is not a source of nutrition but does have some protien value!what I ’ve found is you can buy can of worms or cano pillars/that kind of thing //these are just an alternative food source but shouldn’t redaly be practiced/what it comes down to is this .....if you have 1 frilled dragon your yrly cost could be as high as 1000,00 for one yr.of food. if you have more it doubles!and triples /anyway I was just looking into affordible food sorces!my male has turned into a regular trash compactor/at night he sits on my shoulder and catches moths and eats them /I’m taking an awful risk lettin him eat wilds cuaght bugs//(possible peticides)but he loves it and it’s something I’ve done in the past with other lizards and they re still doin great !so anyway I have a question on breedingcages do you have any blueprints for a good breeder cage set up???????thanks Chip!
