 Communal housing

i know green basalisks are from a differrent region but have the same needs as australian water dragons and close to frills so would they be okay in a 20+ft. long by 6ft high by 15+ ft wide?

Thats a pretty large enclosure. I’d be worried about heating that and keeping the humidity correct before thinking of having 3+ species in there. As far as aggression goes, it can truly come down to the individual animals. I know we have had a 2 male bearded dragons in the same enclosure and been ok, but if we use different males things get ugly. I actually have 2 male NG Frilleds in a 6’x4’x3’ enclosure and they do fine, one is obviously the dominant male and the other is about the size of the other females. If there was any aggression going on i would remove the smaller male right away, but its been fine for the last 2 months and hoping it continues.

Sounds like your using a storage unit, how many lights, basking spots, water pools do you have in it? Is there sufficient air flow, what about feeding the animals? And how many animals are you thinking of having in there?

I,m not sure what I read but it sounds like this//you are wanting to put 3 species together//well if you have matched all the elements of nature //then I would say that the frilly would eat all other lizards /if not eat them the frilly would eventually take over dominance and kill opposing lizards///not real sure though /it’s my theory on the matter///never know they might all get along and live together in harmony//sounds like a huge area to keep track of//good luck and post some pics for us so we can see what you have for a set up/if I had that much room /wow sounds like a heck of a lot of work to me! but sounds like fun too! chip!

I have all three species........Your housing options are much larger than my own. The frilleds are not going to eat the other species if introduced at comparable sizes. My australian water and the frilleds will live ok together, mine have in a much smaller space. Your problem may be with a male green basilisk. My green basil is very territorial towards: asian water dragons, other basilisks ~ male or female, green or brown. Although the smallest of the three species he is actively aggressive towards others. Eventually, he was segregated from the Australian, who is 3 times his size and he was loosing the battle but refused to stop instigating the situations. In an area that size though you could do some micro environments........drier at one end for maybe a bluetongue? who is a floor dweller.
