Nope, no albino waters or frillies. There are rumours of albino beardies though, I don’t think its been proven yet. I can only imagine how stunning albino frillies would be (waters too).

I’ve never heard of albino frillies but I think it’s possible if two frillies mated with the same recessive gene. AS for albino beardies as close as I’ve seen is on

Finding anything albino is very rare. So even if there is one, you don’t have much of a chance finding one.

Of course but once one is found it will be bred and in the near future they will be offered for sale. It is exciting to look forward to animals like this for sale. Imagine a pure white frille, it would be a very beautiful creature to say the least.

Yes, that would be nice, if it happens. Unless I’m wrong, which I might be, there’s no guaranty it’s offspring will be albino. Plus, even if I was wrong, they’d be pricey. Really pricey. but it would be nice.

In order to get an albino you need to breed a normal with it. Then breed back the offspring to parent until you end up with a albino. This is called line breeding and it is how we have gotten most of the albino specimens we have today of other reptiles. Along with what you said, yeah I can see a huge price tag on those animals but after a while prices would come down (think of those albino leopard geckos). Something to look forward to.

there are albino bds out in Australia but i think lighting requirements or something is a problem in captivity so there are none as pets so far.

That’s not what I’ve heard. There have been dead babies found but no adults in Austrilia. Take a look we have them here in North America - Link
The link goes into detail about them.

I don’t know anything for certain about albinos, so what I’m about to say is all just my own random thoughts - anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong...

What Herpcrazy said about lighting being a problem makes sense - albinos have no colour pigmentation at all, so they would be highly sensitive to UV light. They’d still need UVB for calcium metabolism, but the complete lack of pigmentation may well leave them prone to burning (you might have seen a dog, horse, etc. with white markings on it’s muzzle that are prone to sunburn - that happens because there’s no colour pigment in the white area to protect against the UV light). I think it’d be really interesting to find out how true albinos could be supplied with high enough levels of UV light for calcium metabolism, but also keeping the levels low enough so that it doesn’t cause burning problems. Then again, maybe their increased sensitivity to UV might mean they don’t need as much anyway.

If anyone does know anything about looking after true albino reptiles, and how they cope with UV light, then I’d be interested in hearing more.

Chances are the dead albino beardies found may well have been unable to survive due to this increased UV sensitivity - perhaps if they’d been in captivity where it was possible to artificially lower the levels of UV light they might have had a better chance. This is just a guess, but it does make sense to me...

An albino frilly certainly would be beautiful, though. Perhaps we will see them for sale at some point in the future - you never know...

albinos are posible for any creature, even incects. It wouldn’t last because albinos almost always die young because of the uv requirment which would make albino frilled dragons being for sale in the future very small percentage.

Thats not an albino. The exact wording used is "Intense White" which means the dragon only has a large amount of white or silver scales.
