Helping out the comunity
the tv area is 30x30, it has storage under it so it sits kinda high, nice peice of furniture. i bought her plexi glass and velcrow, and i brang some screen. after taking off the front doors i went to work stappleing the soft side of the velcrow to the wood around the outside. once i did that i took off the backing to the rough side of the velcrow and attached it to the soft side. then i placed the plexi glas up agains the sticky velcrow, doing so will get you a perfect match to the soft side and enclosure. the velcrow is very difficult to remove from plexi glas and the longer the stripp the more dificult it is to remove!!! i installed 2 pannels of plexi. a 12’’ bottom piece(across the bottom) and a 20 inch top piece, it overlaps about 4 inches over the bottom piece making a very stable and solid front. easily removable, very durrable.... once that was complete we cut out the top of the enclosure for lights. i stappled screen across the top. lastly we installed a perfectly fitten flroecent tube fixture. it was 28 inches or so and it perfectly fit inside the enclosure. i used the same velcro method to hang the florecent fixture from the top. using horizontal and vertical strips of velcrow, a total of 24 inches of velcro used in strips to creat a solid dock for the flroecent fixture, as it will be hanging and rarely removed. velcrow pattern for hanging flroecent fixtures I I ------ I I ------ I I vertical and horizontal strips. stick and staple soft side to wood, tap/hamer the staples flush, remove backing on rough side, place onto soft strips, press florecent fixture agains sticky side. volla :) pictures will be posted when i get them as it was to dark to take them at the time. so yeah i figured out that the whole reason my frill was doing so poorly was a phycological issue. because she was in so much tramma once i recieved her with mites, and poor recomendations for lighting and temps, she was soooooo tramatized by this that when ever she is here she wont eat, wont bask and wont reallly move. not more then 2 min after goingg into her freashly built enclosure she was head up, licking everything and trotting around and climbing and eventualy basking....... it was an imidate change that blew me away...... i am glad i spent the time to help my friend build this enclosure for shiznit. she will be missed but is in a good home. |

her front legs were swollen and she was a lil wobbly when she walks, also she had an extreamly hard time climbing. but hopefully now that she is eating she will reverce this mbd decent. i just cant tell you how many things i tried with her... and not even 12 hours after she is in her new enclosure she’s eating, so that rules out stress. its got to be the pure fact she does not feel comfortable with my house andher surroundings. frills are very senitive phycologicaly like that...... its so amazing. |
