 Any suggestions?

I’ve come to the point were I convinced my mom to let me get another reptile. We have talked about another beardie to breed with my male But she is too young. So I have to wait about another year until I get enough money to feed the hatchlings and until she grows more. Should I get the beardie or wait for the beardie and get something else in the mean time? Some other choices:
-Argentine Red Tegu
-Frilled Dragon
-Rhino Iggy

Tell me what you think

ok. well do you have enough experience to breed? do you have seporate tanks to keep them in? did you research well about breeding?
if you dont have enough cash to raise hatchings dont breed. u said you’d wait . thats good.

dont expect to make money off breeding bearded dragons. the market is flooded. unless your a big name breeder.

a frill dragon is pretty sensitive emotionally to stress and surroundings. depending on the previous care of the frill, it could be so stressed it’ll never warm up to you or it will be the most outgoing pet ever.

never buy imported. there are plenty of captive bread that come out of florida and other places.

You are absolutely right. I do have 3 years experience(waiting another as I said) and can easily get another 55 gal for her.I’ve seen the frilled dragon eat several times and will eat around 10+crickets a day and is probable the tamest frilly I have ever seen. very expensive(300$) but might be worth it. I am leaning towards the Rhino Iggy though. It will free roam most of the time as well as having a suitable cage. Same rule goes for the Tegu. Thanks for replying, Daniel

free range on an iggy. idk bout that.. i’ve heard of some serious territorial issues. ive seen one guy get his nose bit off by an iggy that was territorial over the bathroom.

Rhino Iggy aren’t as aggressive as the green iguana...gr ig’s’ can be VERY aggressive no mater what time of year it is...I know I have 6 iggys right now....and the two males want to kill each other...including me!!!!!!Awwwww the joys of breeding season...LOL

thanks for commenting, I think I am going to go for the rhino iggy from David Blaire, but they get a fair size so I have to get a loft bed and to clear some space in my room. Ill be happy with what ever decision I make though.

Well surprisingly I decided to get none of the above, I got a baby yellow ackie monitor. He’s in a 15 gallon right now but will need a bigger one very soon. Thanks to all the people who have replied to my message. I will try to post pics as soon as I can figure out how to post pics thanks, Daniel
