 Going to the vet.

Im going to the vet in 10mins. wish my lizard luck. If you want to see pics of his toe look in Do frills shed there frill.
I would like to thank everyone on this forum who has helped me and every one else who needed help.

It went okay. The vet picked him up. Sozin then tried getting out of his hand and whipped the vet with his tail. The vet said " Well he moves allot, most the frills i see barely move and are all rubbery from the lack of UV light." So he then asked about his diet. Then he looked at his toe and it was rubbing at the scabby bottom. He said he does not think its broken. And if it was he could wiggle it off. He kept wiggling it the the scab part broke off. Then he took Sozin into the back and chopped the scab off, and gave him a shot.
When he brought him back Sozin was mad and wouldn’t move, like a baby holding there breath.
He gave me some oral medicine (He does not like it!!) and some ChlorhexDerm Would Cleaner. I have to mix that with water and let him soak in it for 10mins a day. We did that to day he was going good for the 10mins then jumped out and ran all over. I picked him up and he jumped into my sisters hair and she freaked out. But he seems to be doing ok. Oh yea his face started shedding it scared me when i first say him.

:( i hate vets, they are so rough......

be very kind to your frill dragon the next few weeks.

vet visits are always extremely stressful. and on a frill, stress can cause permanent damage to their mind, physiologically, im not kidding!!


it happened to me :(

good luck and take care of your baby!
if he stops eating, well dont worry if its only for a day or 2 or even 3, 4 and 5 days is pushing it. but just keep an eye on him. the meds and stress might upset him enough to not want to eat

Glad to hear the toes not broken....did he tell you to put any topical ointment on the toe where he removed the scab from? If not I would just put a dabble of neo in it after his soak..just dry the toe off real good and put some on there...

OK be VERY careful with the baytril...That stuff is killer on the kidneys.....Keep him VERY hydrated....I’m not trying to scare you or anything but baytril is a very nasty antibiotic....How much are you giving him? and yes his appetite will decrease if not stop....

dude so... he said that toe isnt broken? ok it may not be broken but its dislocated.

some broken toes dont just wiggle off, or break off. some can break and just loose mobility.

if he keeps walking on it and the scab doesnt heal you may need to have it removed. but thats only if he doesnt give the toe a chance to heal and just keeps re-opening the wound.
its defiantly messed up, dislocated, broken or what ever it is. its not a normal thing.

keep doing what your doing. follow the vets advice. and make sure the lil guy doesnt start getting stressed out.

if he does. post back up on here and we’ll help you threw it!

Thanks 87rx7chick. My frill Sozin is eating crickets. He just ate 5 and i give him water and misted him.
I’m keeping an eye on his toe. He seems pretty active always going frlom side to side of the terrarium.
Im soaking his toe in wound cleaner 10mins a day. I`ll try to get new pics of his toe to show you what it looks like now.
Thank you for all the help you have given me. I probably wouldn’t of made it this far with my new friend if you weren’t here to help. Thanks!

Your Welcome,.....Glad we could help.....

That’s good that he’s eating..but if his appetite decreases or he starts going down hill while he’s taking the baytril...STOP IT IMMEDIATELY and start giving him water....I’m sorry but I just hate that stuff...it’s a good antibiotic..but it is so hard on reptiles....

Thanks Pocochu. Sozin (my frill) is doing good. I give him water daily through a water dropper and also have to make him soak in warm water once a day. I didnt give him the baytril yesterday though. I had allot of stuff to do. But i fed him. xD thanks again every one!
