How do you get your frills to eat fruits?

My vet said my frill has to eat veggies. I tried feeding him romaine lettuce, and squash. The vet said i could also try giving him fruits so i tried apples, apple sauce, blue berries, and raspberries, but he just made a joke out of them.

please correct me if i am wrong but unlike bearded dragons that, when older require less bugs and more vegie, frills dont need greens in there diet. if bearded dragons dont get greens they have severe nutrition issues. frills on the other hand i dont think this happens. bearded are more strict omnivorous where as frills are more strict insectivorous.

but since they are in captivity, their food (bugs) dont eat green material that they would in the wild thus they dont get the micro nutrient and other benifits of eating bugs from the wild thus you need to feed this extra stuff...

hope this makes sencce...

if your frill isnt eating greens you can gut load your crickets and super worms with the very same vegi and fruit. you feed your feeders the ingredients with in 24 hours of feeding. use calcium dust and use vitimin dust to a 2:1 ratio. use 2 parts calcium to one part vitimin powder. or feed calcium double the amount of days you feed with the vitimin powder. 2 days cal, one day vit.

some fruit and vegi can be harmfull if fed in large quantities. theres a site called beautiful dragon you can google and pull up the nutritional infrormation on most any item you can feed a reptile.

i hope this info helps you.

Thanks.
My vet said he should eat veggies for vitamins. I told him i dusted my crickets and worms before i fed them and he said that the vitamin powder is not allot, or something like that.
But thanks for your help. both of you.

keep offering items from time to time. but defiantly feed the crickets and super worms with the vegies you’d prob be feeding your frill any way. that way he’s still ingesting the vegi and fruit material:)

ur doing the right thing!
