 Holes in frills flaps

Ive kept and messed with frilleds, and was wondering what was the cause to the holes in the frill. It was more noticable on adult animals... would it have to do anything with humidity or something?

humidity or lack of could create shedding issues. but more likely its because the adults were housed together at some point and got injured.

the frill is VERY thin and it could be torn or ripped if not carefull

You will see frill tear alot due to breeding the males bite the female by her frill when breeding. and alot of time you see them in animals that have been imported because they throw a bunch in a bag and they claw each other resulting in tears.

If you feed crickets in the enclosure and are not making sure they are all out, the crickets will eat the frill too. I rehabbed one like that once.

Okay thanks for clearing it all up. I’ve been over to put 2 and 2 together now.
