Looking more like a boy now

When I last posted, we thought Evie was a irl and had the "scarey" episode of discovering he’s a boy. At that time, he looked more like a female to me and some others. But I took some pics the other night of him basking, and realized with a shock that he’s filled out in the face/head, and looks more male to me now! See if you agree

ps we moved into a new home, and have had a lot going on, so I haven’t been posting in a while. Evie settled right in at the new home after a day or so, and is doing very well!

Compared to these pics:

In the older pics, he looks less filled out, more thin with a smaller head like a female. In the new pics, it looks like his head has filled out more in the head, like a male. He does have big femoral pores too!

Hey, he definatly has two lumps under his tail, and the "scary episode" was a hemipenal plug. We thought he was a girl, as the vet sexed him when he was younger and said "female". But then when he had the plug, we thought it was a prolapse or something serious, turned out he’s a boy lol. He had the body shape of a female (looked slimmer, smaller head, etc) but now it looks like he’s filling out, and looking more like a male to me.

slimmer and smaller head could be many reasons. genetics or diet. in captivity we cant give them 100% of their needs, its very complex to do so. just like humans dont get 100% of micro nutrients in GE food and possessed food. (different issue but same idea)

does that make sense?
just like we give them artificial light. we give them a diet that is not true to how they eat out in nature.

when you mention a plug you mean the femoral plug right? on the underside of the legs? i had an issue with my ausi water dragon few of his came out during shipment to my house. it was scary for me too and i also took my guy to the vet =X

any way i hope your frill is doing good!
