Wood? where did yall get your wood and stuff for yall’s frilled dragon tanks/cages? is it alright if i use a large piece of branch from outside? I’m worried about diseases and stuff that the wood and branches from outside might bring. if it is alright is there anyway i can sterilize the pieces? like maybe striping the bark and boiling it? just wondering because i cant find any places where to get large pieces.

Wood? All of my wood came from outside. Just make sure it’s got a suitably rough surface that your Frilly can climb, and then soak it in a bleach solution for half an hour or so. I used a plastic wheelie-bin. Once you’re done, make sure you rinse it THOROUGHLY, as the bleach itself won’t do your Dragon much good!! After bleaching, you can rinse it by leaving it to soak for 15 minutes or so at a time in a container of clean water. Do this a few times, changing the water each time, then if possible give it a good power wash. If you can’t power wash it, just keep rinsing it till you feel confident there should be no bleach left. Then make sure it’s dried well before putting it in with your Dragon.
When you finally put the wood into your enclosure, check it to make sure there aren’t any sharp, pointed edges etc. that could injure your Dragon, and secure it in place so it can’t fall. You can use aquarium-safe silicone if it’s a viv with solid walls (make sure it’s completely dry before putting the Dragon in), or tie it securely to the side of a wire etc. cage.
