Can I overfeed my baby pacman frog?

I have had my pacfrog for 2 months now ( he’s about the size of a half dollar ) and he eats crickets right from my fingers. He seems to prefer this as opposed to catching them in the tank. I do dust them, but how do I know if I’m feeding him too much? He eats two Large crickets a day. Gracias.

Do you feed him everyday? If so I would cut down his feedings to every other day. Obesity can be a problem w/ several species of frogs (White’s Tree Frogs for example) and toads (most Bufos). Also how many times a week do you dust his food? I hope you’re not dusting his food every feeding. I think I read once a week is fine or you run the risk of some kinda toxic build up or something. Best bet is to type "care sheet for pacman frogs" into your search engine and see what pops up. I also think there’s an entire book by Phillipe de Vosjili devoted to the care of pacmans. ALWAYS do as much research as you can about whatever species you keep. LOL!

From my experience, if he’s had enough, he won’t take anymore from your hand. Also at that size, I think they can eat about 3-4 a day and not be overfed. See if he’ll take one more, based on how big it is. They can eat enough to amount to almost their entire size and if it fits in his mouth,it isn’t too big...does this help?
