 Goliath frogs...?

I am reading up on the breed and wanted more information. How big do they realy get? Are they aggressive and how large of a place do they need full grown? The net is ok but I want people who know and have one or had one. When my collection is done I am going to the schools to show kids about the different kinds of animals I own. I thought a frog that size would be nice to teach with.

 Goliath frogs...?

Since I recently found a "dwarf" version of a goliath frog, the Allen’s Goliath Frog, at the local pet store, I have been searching them too. I know they are endangered and only very few come into the US each year. Also, they do not breed well in captivity, so taking them out of the wild isn’t helping, rather hurting the species. The one I got was a captive bred Allen’s Goliath Frog, which is from the same genus as the true goliaths, just a different species, and they get around the size of a bullfrog (not including their superlong legs). The pet store sold it to me as a normal Goliath Frog, but I knew that for 30 bucks it couldn’t be the real thing, so I searched until I found that what I had looked more like the Allen’s. Thats about all I can tell you, I hope some of that helps you :).

 Goliath frogs...?

Yes it helps. I asked in the tree frog forum and got some info also. Its so sad that such a big frog is being killed in the wild. I was searching the net and saw this pic that got me interested. I have been reserching them and had no luck. After I found out they were endangered and needed a set up that is way out of my income range I wanted to cry! I would like to take my collection to schools and teach kids about reptiles and frogs....ok any animal lol. I won’t be finished until 2009 {in the fall if all goes well} with my collection. I still have a few more animals to add. {if I don’t find new ones along the way}
