they will sometimes do that when they are sleeping. they naturally turn different shades of light brown and green.

although, there are times when that signals sickness or something that is not right within the tank..

what is the tank like?

I have a 10 gallon tank with eco earth on the floor, a very large branch going from one end to the other and a live plant also a vine suction cupped to the back of the tank. There is a large flat shallow water dish also at the other end. I have a heater pad on the bottom of the opposite side of the water. I turn on a florescent lamp during the day. I have not covered the back yet...unsure what to use. I am in the process of getting uv lamp. Ordered it today. thanks

Ok, gonna try this again, maybe a shorter version this time, since the first one didn’t post.

Welcome to the forum!

What are the temp and humidity in your tank? That can make a difference in the coloring. If you don’t have gauges in the tank, get those A.S.A.P. You need to know the temp and humidity in the tank at all times, making sure you have a cool and a warm side.
If you don’t have a backing on the tank, you can use a dark trash bag, or dark paper until you get something that you like.

If you can, stop that order for the UV lamp. Frogs do not benefit from them.
Can you show us a pic of your frog and its setup?

How much and how often are you feeding your frog? Be sure that you are using the right size crickets for its size. Do you know for sure that it is eating? Have you seen pooh in the tank yet?
