 Sick African Clawed Frog

I have a 20 year old ACF that has not eaten in about 7 weeks. From doing research on the net I think she might have a bacteria infection because her eyes have a shade of blue to them. Does anyone know anything about this and how to treat it or where I can find new information?

thank you

OHHH I’m really sorry after all this time he’s sick...

You can try most fish medications with no problem for these guys but at 1/2 strength.... Some say full strength and usually the pond ones you can...

I must say though that 20 years is above reproach of a wonderful long life..hats off to you..

Age is really against him but its worth a try for sure.... Stay away from copper treatments... I prefer Maracin type products for delicate fish... Pond treatments are usually good as they take in effect surrounding fish or wildlife so are gentle usually but concentrated.....

The eyes sound more like caterats which come with age in humans as well as most animal species...
It won’t kill him just makes food hard to find... you can help here by offering floating pellet style foods..The larger the better that he can take.... He should find them....

Would I try a medicine?... Yes; Maybe an all natural one like mela fix so no side effects...

I hope this helps....
