 Tank temp

Hi, I have just got a pac-man frog, he’s in a 24" X 12" X 12" tank (WxLxD) with a solid plastic lid - its an old fish tank. I have a heat mat under 1 part of the tank, but the thermometer at the other end is only reading 70, I’m a bit concerned that it is not warm enough, is it ??????

70-75 at night and 80-85 during the day but as long as most of the tank is around 80-85 you’ll be fine

How high up is the thermometer? Remember, the frog will be squished down into the substrate above the heat mat when he wants to get warm, so it’ll be warmer down there. If the air temperature is 70-80 and he has a small section that’s even warmer he can dig into, he should be fine. Is he eating and pooping?

I’ve dropped the thermometer down so its sat in the substrate ( heat mat end ) and the temp is up to 78, frog is eating and dumping fine - or thats what it seems anyway. . . . . . . . . . . . .

thanks
