 Got a bullfrog!

I got a bullfrog, it is only a couple inches right now, what do I feed it? I put some minnows in the water. What else should I do.

You could get some small crickets, earthworms, guppies if you want...occasional waxworms or mealworms. I use crickets as the staple in the diet though, and get a good vitamin/calcium supplement to dust the crickets.

is it true bullfrogs will eat pond fish? I have experience with frogs but don’t want my frog to eat all my fish.

Mine won’t eat crickets for some reason. Only eats pheonix worms and mealworms. I’ve offered crickets but he never wants them. It sucks. I’ve just posted a question about guppies myself.

They normally eat whatever will fit in their mouths, I’m surprised yours wouldn’t eat crickets. Mealworms aren’t good that often because their outer shells are hard to digest, I’ll check out the guppy post, but they’re normally fine, and earthworms are really good to get too.

yeah i mean im not an hardcore expert or anything but i read in quite a few places that if u boil some lettuce or better to freezer so it keeps its nutriants then cut them up in small pieces they’ll eat it. i mean mine does.

Freckles isn’t interested in the guppies. Two died of their own volition and the other 4 are just hanging out. He’s more scared of them!!!! LOL

YES, A BULLFROG WILL EAT FISH BUT, THE BASICS ARE IF THE FISH IS LARGER THAN THE BF, HE WON’T CHANCE IT. HE WOULD RATHER EAT WORMS, BOILED LETTUCE, AND SMALL MINNOW’S. I HAVEN’T EVER HAD A PROBLEM, BUT, WATCH OUT FOR RA COONS AND SKUNK’S, I HAD TO GET A LEAF NET TO KEEP THEM AWAY FROM MY FISH AND FROG’S ALSO MY NEIGHBORS CAT.....GOOD LUCK.
