Late american bullfrog
My american bullfrog is now dead but I want to know why he died. Before he died, he was extremely sluggish, enable to stand upright on his feeding rock. When I flipped him over, he had no reaction to it unlike always. He seemed to have red spots dotting his nostril, lip and part of his thigh.I took a tissue to wipe it off and it did come off but it could not come off totally. He had a fairly balanced diet based on crickets and mealworms.I cant get a pic as he already is buried under a tree.Pls let me know wat happened so i can prevent this from happening to my other frogs. His tank also contained a big rock and a land area consisting of smaller rocks.A coupleof his shed skins were in the water. Now,what did I do wrong?
Thank you.

Chytridiomycosis is caused by a zoosporic fungus, Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, which develops solely within keratinized cells (3), causing extensive hyperkeratosis and death by an, as yet, unknown mechanism.....THAT IS MORE THAN LIKELY THE CULPRIT, good luck with your next one.
