2 Golden Tree Frogs - one looks kind of skinny - should I be worried?

Hi everyone! I’m new to these forums AND new to owning tree frogs as well. I’ve had a gazillion other animals but have to stick to ones without fur now because of my allergies.

Anyhow, two weeks ago we went to a local pet store and purchased 2 Golden Tree Frogs. The two we picked looked pretty healthy. I haven’t read very much about them, but I did read I was supposed to feed them at night, so I’ve stuck about 8 crickets in there for both of them. Gary - the smaller of the two, seems a little skinny to me. Velociraptor - who is much larger, looks healthy and like he/she has a little meat on their bones.

Am I feeding them correctly? Do they need to have crickets every night? What about meal worms?

And, I hope this question doesn’t sound dumb, but I am curious - can they see in the dark? I want to know how they can see the crickets.

Thanks

Just toss in crickets at night and collect the uneaten ones in the day. Also, make sure to dust your crickets once or twice a week as well as gut load your crickets.

I have mine under a UV light.

I wouldn’t do mealworms and would just stick with crickets.

I don’t know how they do it either, but I can hear them jumping to eat crickets at night.
