 Foggy water in my frog tank

i have a 65 g or so tank for my dart frogs no frogs yet im getting the tank perfect before i get the frogs but there is a film on top of the water that is murkey in the little pond it gets clearer towards the water fall but the pond is not looking so hot is there anything i can use to test the water to make sure its not toxic for my dart frogs? the only piece of plastic in there is the water fall http://www.petco.com/product/108700/Exo-Terra-Medium-Reptile-Terrarium-Waterfall.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch
everything else is live any ideas?

Sounds like it could be hardwater or mildew like my frills water got like that when i used the exo terra ultasonic fogger

If the foggy ness is at the surface then it is probably the frog urine. if its not at the surface then idk.

I think you should try to put a whole new batch of fresh water in there or put a water filter in there and see if it gets any better hope it works

I had a similar situation once. The color wasn’t as brown as yours however. Try a full tank cleaning if you have the time. The above post is good too.

dump the gravel into a large bucket, then run water into the gravel, keep dumping it out over and over till the water is clean and clear. otherwise maybe check the ph of the water coming out of your faucet?
