2 frogs and a turtle together?

if i were to buy a small slider, no bigger than a couple inches, would it be safe to pu him in a 30 gallon aquarium with 2 small green frogs? or would the turtle snap at the frogs? here is a picture of them.

no.
it doesn’t matter the size ratio. the frog is part of the turtles diet and will eat the frogs or bite them on the legs and stomach.

Don’t mix species. Period. And just a side-note, even a "small" slider will grow enormous. And the habitats are totally different anyway.

A small slider will grow large enough to need a 100 gallon tank. Green frogs also need large tanks as adults. I’ve seen a 4 inch turtle rip an 8 inch goldfish to pieces. Why would your frogs be any safer?

don’t do it! I just got a small turtle and he eats everything he can, he is about 4 inches (i think hes a painted turtle) and ate a goldfish that was about and inch and a half, thinking it was too big for him to even think about eating, I was wrong.

lol yeah tutrles are pretty nasty to other critters. wouldn’t mix them. but you can mix frogs with other animals. i dunno why some people say you shouldn’t mix differnt animals. as long as they are safe to go with each other and have similar conditions they will be fine.

because they’re not safe to go with eachother. They could pass parasites/toxins to one another depending on the species, and aside from that it’s very stressful for normally solitary animals to have to coexist with others 24/7. Even if they require similar conditions, some are just natural predetors or competitors, and having to live side by side is not ideal for any animal involved.

yeah i know that’s why i said if they are safe to go together, IE wont eat each other and don’t mind being near others. and toxins and parasites can come form anyone.

Wooks1, I’m interested to know what animals you have experience with and for how many years you’ve been working with them.

To support your claim you must bring me evidence of a credible nature that proves your belief.

Parasites that one species can tolerate can kill another species even if they are closely related. Same goes with bacteria. I’ve kept dozens and dozens of different herp species and I know the dangers of the hobby well.

This is a place to learn though, so if you have some evidence then please share it. And I don’t accept, "I’ve done it for 4 months and so far so good," To prove yourself out the animals must live out to the end of their established average lifespans.
