another thing, i know there is a problem with exporting these frogs from africa, and i know that u need a special permit to get one. So don’t bother telling me that its illegal and that i really don’t want one cuz of there immense size and difficult care. i’ve been lectured by dozens of other people and i don’t wanna here it. all i want to know is how to get one of these permits. thank you.

First get a doctorate in zoology. Then come back for your lecture.

If I were to assume you are prepared to take care of one, can I get a picture of the setup that will house a frog that can jump 15-20 feet?

im not saying that i am currently prepared for one, but i love frogs and am interested in persuing a future involving frogs, such as zoology. i was just curious as to how i would obtain one when i feel i am ready, if i ever am. i would probably build an indoor pond or something like that. thanks anyway.

San Diego zoo had one sometime back. Last I heard there’s no regulation on them, but they aren’t imported or collected due to being an endangered species. I heard of a few for sale years ago around $3000-4000 a piece. You’d be better off getting a cane toad or smokey mountain chicken frog if you want a huge frog.

Male pyxies get huge. Females not so much. They sort of didn’t get the memo about female frogs being bigger. You can usually find ads on Kingsnake or Fauna Clasifieds for CB Pyxies. There’s also a very close relative of the goliath that is often CALLED a goliath by importers; it’s similar in size to the Pyxie but much more of a jumper. Not real crazy abiut the idea of catching wild animals that normally move ten feet at a time and shoving them into a little fish tank, then wondering why they’re so stessed, you know?

Pixies get massive and look like a ball with a mouth. Smokey Mt. Chicken frogs are more frog looking with long powerful legs.
