 I got a Pac Man Frog today. Uhhh, any info for me?

I bought a Pac Man frog todayy! Yayyy! He’s in a tub with holes drilled in the top. He has Eco Earth that I bought along with him, so it’s fresh. He has a water bowl too. I know they’re bad swimmers so I’m going to put rocks in the bowl to make sure he doesn’t drown. He doesn’t have a light but he has a Under Tank Heater. He’s got a plant too. I know he need to be moist all the time so I have a spray bottle that I will use to spray him every day. Any other information? Thanks!

i don’t know wether or not moss is bad for your frog, but i havn’t heard very good things about it. i would not take him out of his enclosure to feed him. this can cause a great deal of stress which can ultimately lead to him getting sick and or dieing.

If you are feeding in a seperate conatiner then the moss shouldn’t be a problem. Provided he eats when you feed him this method is fine for pacman frogs. Try not to touch him when you do this. Instead shoo him into a cup or something. This will keep him from absorbing stuff off your own skin.

yeah, dont mist the frog. just mist everything in the tank but the frog. the frog will absorb water through its skin. pacman frogs have very sensative skin, and misting the frog can cause the skin to rot and it can be very harmful to your frog.

Ekkk! I have been misting him! x.x I will make sure not to mist him anymore. I have been feeding him in his cage today.. But I use these reptile tweezer things that are made for feeding. So I let him stay in his little hole and he eats the cricket.. So that’s good right? Since he can’t get the moss in his system? I fed him a few small crickets today and he ate them no problem. But since he ate he has been in his water bowl. Is that normal? He has been soaking in it since he ate.. Which was a few hours ago!

thats normal. somtimes they like to soak in the water for a few hours. if u want, u can try to put a few guppies in their. i tried the other night and my frog ate 3. alog with eating 9 crickets. where did u get your frog? i got myne at petsmart last monday.

Feeding them in seperate containers is fine and will not stress them out to the point of death. I do this with my frog and my crested gecko so they don’t eat any of their substrate and they do great.

Forty dollars for a pacman? Jeez, I got mine at petco and it was only 15.


I usually feed mine every other day, or every two days. I feed him as many as he will eat in about ten minutes. It’s usually pretty close to ten large crickets, give or take a little.
