 Madagascar dwarf ground frog

I bought 5 Madagascar dwarf tree frogs at an exotics auction, but a search of the internet hasn’t provided me ANY information. I can’t even find anything with that name...

Has anyone heard of these? They’re the size of a fingernail, one being the size of a man’s pinky nail, and the other four are the size of a woman’s pinky nail... They’re rather dull in color, and have no problem sticking to the side of their temporary plastic enclosure. They’ve enjoyed a nice meal of pinhead/ a little larger then pinhead crickets and are relaxing on a bed of damp wood chips, but I don’t really know a whole lot about them and would like to know more...

Any info would be great... Thanks!

Catharine

Look up mantella frogs. If you can post a picture here it would help. There are 100’s of frogs from Madagascar. Most of them like cooler temps and mid-range humidity.

They’re not quite as pretty as the mantellas- but I bet they weren’t nearly as expensive either, lol. ;)

Any idea what I have and where I can find out more info on their care?

Look more like a rana species than a hyla or anything like that. The legs, toes, and back look wrong for a tree frog. It looks a little like a Madagascar Grass frog, but the skin looks off. I didn’t think Madagascar was shipping too many animals out of late.

Pop on over to talkto.thefrog.org and ask them for an ID there. There are some fossils over there that have worked with a lot of Madagascar species.
