 HELP MY PACMAN FROG

I’m getting really worried about my frog. I’ve had him for about 3 weeks and he hasn’t pooped once. He started shaking tonight ad i noticed the temperature dropped in his tank to 69 degrees. I have been using a heat pad under the tank and I’m worried that it isn’t enough. I also have an over head lamp but I don’s like using it because it dries the tank out really fast. Someone please help me out with this

A regular light is fine. Frogs don’t need UVB radiation to process calcium. If the frog is an albino pacman then a UVB blub could be dangerous.

Try giving him a warm bath.

 HELP MY PACMAN FROG

I feed him crickets mostly I havent had him for long but I fed him crickets and butterworms so far. He’s been pooping alot since I posted this. I added more substrate and it seems that he’s alot more comfortable. with the bulb should I get a black light or red light for it? I know they are nocturnal and I feed him at night so when I turn on the light to feed him he doesn’t move. The reason I got him is to watch him eat but unless i dont feed him for a few days he never eats in front of me.

 HELP MY PACMAN FROG

also i noticed that my frog isn’t moving around as much as he used to. I know they usually dont but its been about 3 days since he ate. Another thing I noticed is that hes looking dried out but i spray his tank alot and the hydrometer has never dropped under 75. Does anyone know whats happening? I know I’m probably getting too worried but I just wanna make sure He’s fine and if he isnt I’m hoping you guys can help me out with him. Thanks again to all who post ideas.

Only the digital ones will measure humidity accuratly. If he’s drying up then the tank is too cool probably and he’s trying to estivate. Try to raise temps. Make sure there’s a fresh water dish available for him too. Keeping the ground really soggy isn’t the best thing because it can increase bacterial infections. Spray the tank down well before you go to bed. Leave it at that though, don’t do it excessively.

Sorry to say this, but pacmans are nocturnal frogs. That means they will eat at night, and they are pretty shy about it.

I have a digital thermometer and hydrometer it came together. I think your right it might get too cold at night for him. He moved last night and I noticed he looks a little waxy. So it’s obvious he’s not too happy with something. I was thinking I actually mist his tank too much and that might be the problem.

With the eating part he usually eats in front of me when I feed him with the tongs. Maybe he’s just growing up and enjoys hunting more i dont know haha.

 HELP MY PACMAN FROG

My pacman is having about the same problems... I don’t know if he is hibernating or dead. I would start a new thread but for some reason It will not let me. Good luck with your pacman.
