Can i feed firebellys grasshoppers? I have had firebelly toads for over 9 months and have always fed them crickets from the pet store. I have recently been able to catch grasshoppers from my yard. Can I offer them to my firebelly toads?

Probably you can if they are small and soft-bodied, without sharp nasty mouthparts or spines... however, there are some types, notably the ones called lubbers, that are definitely toxic and should NEVER be used. (Lubbers are the ones that are black with bright red markings when they are small, and grow into those big, nasty slow-moving brown grasshoppers.) So, use caution and use only small, non-toxic types, but if you aren’t sure, it might be best to just use crickets.

Can i feed firebellys grasshoppers? Crickets are cheap! I’d stick to crickets, and not risk the health hazards that grasshoppers can pose... Just my .02!
