 Raising Tree Frog Tads...HELP

I am raising tree frog tads. The first 5 frogs finished their trandformation over the weekend. Sunday night one jumped in the water and was swimming with the tads...An hour later I went to check on them and he was being devoured by the tadpoles...So this morning I had 4 left...THree are very plump and healthy...the fourth is VERY skinny and sickly looking. I havent seen ANY of them eat, but the others must be getting some nutrients from somewhere because they are cute, plump, little frogs. The 4th frog is sooo skiny and blotchy looking. He is translucent.

Here is what I am offering them as food: dried bloodworms, dried shrimp, reptomin baby, fish flakes. I put the bloodworms and shrimp on the dry land and the rest in the water. I have a soda cap with water and reptomin mixed together for the frogs. The tads eat so much so fast, the frogs really dont have a chance to eat what ends up in the water. So the tads have access to all of the food in the water while the frogs have access to all but the fish flakes on the dry land portion of the terrarium.

Am I feeding them right?
Do you think this 4th froggy maybe just has a defect that is preventing him from eating or something?
Why did the first frog who braved the water and tads die?
Are tads that carnivorous that they will eat a healthy frog to death?
Or did this frog die before the tads got to him?

once the frogs leave the water they should be transfered to a rearing tank as if they re-enter the water they will quickly drown.
They will need to be fed livefoods such as fruit fly & hatchling crickets.

Thank you. That was very helpful. I will have to get another tank set up this afternoon.

How long do they need to be away from the water before they can be re-introduced? How deep should the drinking water be in the second holding tank?

They need water at all times...they just shouldn’t have too much. They don’t need alot...enough to halfway submerge themselves is fine. I personally have my treefrogs water dish at approx. 3 inches deep right now.

They will not return to water until they are at least a year of age and return ready to spawn. They do need a small shallow water area in their holding tank just deep enough to soak in (water level just below the nostrils when the frog is at rest)

Hmm...Ok. Thanks. I guess I will need to move the tads out and make this a total terrarium. Thanks.
