The reptile carpet stuff is ok for snakes but that is not the stuff a toad should be kept on. Toads live in moist soil/leafy areas. That means people who keep them as pets use a moist substrate that is similar to what they would have in a natural habitat. You should let both of them go. Do not keep animals just because you can catch them. An enviroment that is too damp for snakes can cause sores on their body so clearly those two animals should not be housed together considering they take two very different set ups. I can tell you haven’t done any research. The snake was sick and you made it better so now it should be returned to the wild where it belongs and is suppose to live. The toad had nothing wrong with it and was just taken out of its habitat and put into an unsuitable enclosure with an animal that when it is big enough wll eat toads. Neither of those animals are happy living in something like that, not to mention they are most likely stressed out being around each other. Don’t be selfish and let them go.

first of all the only reason the toad was in the picture was because i had moved him in there for like 2 seconds so i could rearrange the tank for the toad and i decided to take the picture with it in there.and the toad is way too big for the garter snake and i will not let them go because they ARE happy in there environment and the toads i have are perfectly fine. i have grown them from babies so im not gunna let them go now after all the care ive given them so they could just die in the wild cause they expect food and sometimes they might not be able to get food. so im not being selfish. maybe you should ask questions before you start to assume and start snapping... im an awesome pet keeper and YES i do my research. i know more than you probably do so that really makes me mad how you could even start something like that without even knowing anything!!!!!!!! Also my garter snakes are fed every 4 days and they also expect food and i did my research on these too. in fact every animal including my tarantulas i have done research on and i have printed up care sheets for all of them just in case i have questions! so start something when you know the whole story, not a quarter of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAHA... Your Garter snake "expects food"? I am sure it does considering they are opportunistic feeders. They eat when they can being the fact that in the wild they sometimes end up going a while before they get another chance to eat. You got your snake from the wild and it would have no trouble going back. The toads you got from the wild raised them from babies OK you have had them for so long now there is no sense in releasing them. When you put something out there like that you look like another 12 year old with a community tank who tries to keep everything they can catch. This forum gets alot of people who don’t know how to take care of the animals they catch and end up keeping a Garter in something like a jar or a random tank with barely anything in it until they figure out what they need. You should explain the situation a little before posting a pic that makes something look like what it’s not. As far as the "i know more than you probably do" comment, that is a pretty poor assumption considering your response comes off as something a child wrote. I have been dealing with those animals "probably" longer than you have been alive. I look forward to your response. I need something to laugh at.

Necessary? Let’s behave like gentlemen sirs. The forum is here so we can help each other enjoy our reptiles. I don’t think personal attacks are necessary. Show your worth sirs.
