Two year old young adult female eastern born here. Very friendly girl
This is Prettyboy (don’t laugh)...named when it was a baby, turned out to be female
This is Goldie, he is an unusually yellow eastern male 2 years old this summer
Oregon red spotted garter - adult female, looking for a male for her. Also have a very young female baby from her
Albino Checkered garter - I have two females old enough to breed - looking for a male
I also have two puget sound garters - a adult female and a young baby I believe to be male - don’t have good photos of them though. And I have 3 California redsided babies as well as both parents. |

1. Their size - Adult garter females rarely reach more than 3 1/2 feet long. Most are closer to 3, with males being around 2 foot and a lot slimmer. 2. Garters generally have a stripe down their back that starts just behind the head and goes the length of their bodies. 2/3rds of them have side stripes as well Your best move is to find out what snakes are likely to be found in the state and area where you would be looking. Then read the descriptions for each so that you know what one is likely to look like. Hope that was of some help. |
