I see you guys have posted some images of baby Garter Snakes! I recently came into possession of a baby Garter from a friend who’s adult had babies and could no longer care for them. I have a lot of previous experience with snakes (having owned many in earlier years); however, never ones of this size. The closest I can relate it to is the size of the one posted in "Gottee guy’s" previous post! It appears to be about six inches long and looks like it has freshly shed. What I am wondering is what I should try to feed it? I was thinking maybe an extremely small Rosy Red Minnow; but, I’m not even sure if that would still be too big! I would appreciate any feedback in regards to feeding this little guy and I thank you for all your help in advance! |

I’ve always found that my previous Garters never had interest in sessile livestock; however, I could still be wrong so I look forward to hearing back from you! |

No, they don’t have to be moving, even though garters and ribbons take greater interest in moving prey. |
