This forum is dead......and it’s crap. Go to www.thamnophis.com. It’s always active and you’ll get plenty of help. Good luck. I hope the little one makes it.

???? that makes hardly any sense. you think or you know it got torn up by a cat? are they scars or open wounds?
for now just feed it guppies and minnows, keep it in a 10 or 20 gallon tank (with a screen lid) with aspen substrate or organic potting soil as substrate, water bowl deep enough it can fit into, heat lamp, temperature range in the low to mid 70’s and basking spot in the mid 80’s.

if it has open wounds keep it on paper towels. Tey can use the same topoical antibiotics we can, but not the same pain-relivers, so something like regular neosporn, rather than the version with painkiller, is safe for them.

Keeping it on paper towels,is like stated above, the best substrate to use right now. (Because of dirt getting inside of wounds, getting infected etc...)
Ive used regular neosporn, as well as a treatment called "Repti Aid"(can be founad at most any petsmart, petco, or local petstore) it works great if you follow the instructions.
Make sure to change out water every day since it has open wounds. You might want to put it on a vitamin supplementation to help its immune system. (brand name "Repcal" is affordable and at every petsmart or petco, and most local petstores)

Thank you for your dedication in trying to help this animal, I wish more people would do that instead of killing them just because they are snakes.

PS. when you believe the animal is healed and in optimal condition, you should release it back into the wild.
