 I need avdvice

I am planning on getting a garter snake but i dont know how to look after them properly. is it just like looking after a corn snake. how big do they grow.

They can get up to 4 feet, tho thats not very normal. It also depends on which kind you get. Yes its much like a corn :) good luck

4 feet, I don’t think so, maybe a WORLD RECORD.
They are an average of 2’- 2&1/2’.
Unlike corn snakes though, the need a large water bowl they can swim in. And youll be lucky if you get them on mice, their normal captivity food is rosy red minnows.

I have not found this true, All of my wild caught went on feeders after a week or 2 of scenting. I find it very easy to get any stubbern snake on pinkies. Altough oncde you get him on pinkies, Dont give him "Treats" like worms or fish, otherwise you will have to start the scenting process all over again

I didn’t say it was impossible. I have had MANY garter snakes, and only a few of them got onto mice.
But yes, your "treat" statement is very true.

ribbon snakes IME (in my experience) are much harder to get on pinkies than ribbons. and don’t live as long. i don’t think i have had a single ribbon even bite a pinkie mouse even when it was scented. but my eastern garter loves them either way.
