Put shingles, tarps, and other heat attracting items in places that catch sun a lot. Don’t disturb them for a few weeks. You should find all kinds of stuff under there including garters (if you’re in an area close to garter habitat). They’re fast, so you need to be fast in order to catch them. Good luck.

i always find ribbons by the banks of ponds, and always just catch them by the nick of their tail.
