 What hapened?

this is cisco from the leopard gecko forum and i know like nothing about snakes but i just found a garter snake in the road and it had no injuries and it was totally limp what do think happend?

no but i put it ou t of harm unde a tree but it could still get enough sun but it was moving 4 a little bitlike it was breething i think it may have been in really bad shock although wouldent it be not limpif it was in shock?
