 Breeding q’s

One of my leopard gecko eggs has a light brown spot on it and was wondering if it was waterlogged. Can you tell me what a waterlogged egg looks like and if you can fix the problem?

Also how big are eggs supposed to be 2 weeks before they hatch? How big are they supposed to be right before hatching.

Thanks

It could just be the shell of the egg. Have you candled it? Try doing that to check. Unless the perilite/vermiculite you’re using in the incubator is sopping wet, it wouldn’t get waterlogged. Once it does though, there’s no way you can fix it other than cut down on sitting water, and hope it hatches and didn’t completely drown the embryo. Was the media for the incubator sterilized? Also, did you use distilled water?

As for size, it’s generally the same, andkind of unnoticeable. After 2-3 weeks, the egg should hatch if it was fertile.
