Info Needed On Breeding Crested Geco’s (ignor the 1 below)

Just afew questions ide like answered if anybody could halp.

. Do Crested Gecko’s breed all year round? if not then when?
. How many hatchlings would I expect to get each time she drops the eggs?
. What do the babies feed on and how often?

Any extra information would be very helpful

1. No, cresteds do not breed year around. Each female can mate with a male once a year and can pruduce up to 20 babies. The normal season is March to May but in captivaty it really doesn’t matter.

2. As I said above, a healthy female can produce 20 eggs in clutches of two. You will probably have a few bad egg esppecially the first season so maybe 10-15

3. You can feed the babies baby food and crickets. There should always be baby food in the cage and crickets can be fed every few days. If you want, you can mix some CGD in with the baby food

i would NOT ever feed babyfood!!!! it is very high in sugar, and is very bad for crested gecko’s. some people still do, but that is usually the main cause for a sick gecko. it would be much better to only feed Crested Gecko Diet, either the one part, or the two part diet, it is a complete diet with everything they need in it. from what i have been told hatchlings cannot really eat crickets untill they are a few months old, so it would be better to go with the CGD anyways, that way you never have to wean them off the baby food if/when they get sick.

especially since we are talking about hatchlings, you want them to get the most neutrition out of their diet as possible simply because they are developing so much. i sometimes offer fresh fruit either very finely chopped for the adults, or put through a food processor for the babies so that it is very fine. but i only do that about once a month for a treat...

but seriously, i know that babyfood is convenient, but PLEASE do not make that their diet! it causes SO many problems...
