I did and it was the best envestment i have ment as it has let me catch helth problems before they got too dangerous. My opinion is that a scale is a VERY good investment.

K...took this just for you. It’s a digital. It has got all sort of settings and such. (just don’t know how to use them) It only dues full grams and will round up or down to the nearest one. Not a big deal unless you are dealing with LITTLE babies.

I use a paper plate between the geckos and the scale. It keeps them from freaking out over the reflection and I don’t have to worry about any geckos I may be quarantining. Oh and sorry about the mess We had a calcium spill last night...thought I got it all. LOL
Hope this helps...

I got mine from LLLReptile, it measures to the nearest tenth of a gram, which is awesome for little babies. The scale plate itself is kind of small though, so I usually just put the gecko in a tared deli cup, which is probably safer anyway when they’re smaller. Again, it’s a great investment.

I got mine off of Ebay. It is a jewelers scale. well worth the money (even though it was less than 20$ after shipping!)

Ok nevermind on that last question. But why are the scales so small that I’m looking at? They are all about 5inx 5in or even smaller.

sorry about the long link, but they work awesome! like i can weigh my hatchlings with this one and when they first hatched they were 1.6g’s so this one doesn’t round up or down, it tells you exactly how much they weigh

that scale platform is almost 2" square. how do you get the gecko to sit still on that?

i put a deli cup with the lid on it on top before i turn it on, then it zeroes it’s self out with the deli cup on top of it. put the gecko in the cup, and put the lid on and all is fine!

so thats for the babys? wouldnt you need something bigger for an adult? or does the deli cup hang over the edges?

i use it for both, it comes with a long "cover" that you can put on top as well so that the weight can be equally distributed, and i use the 8 oz deli cups so it doesn’t really hang over the side, i mean the cups are round and the weighing area is square, but it doesn’t teeter or anything. i tried using a food/postage scale and it only weighed to the nearest 5 grams
