 Crested eggs

Can anyone advise me on how long I should keep the eggs before discarding them. They are at 100 days now. The eggs don’t smell, they have grown in size and are kept in a room that is on the cool side. Would increasing the room temp this late in the incubation hurry them along or is it to late for that. Is there any way to tell if the eggs have live babies in them at this stage. Hope someone has an answer for me. Thanks

wow! congratulations, eggs are very exciting. i wouldn’t discard them, does it look like they have "grown" at all? if they aren’t moldy then they are still good, it can take close to two hundred days for some of them to hatch depending upon the temperature. the eggs will also sort of seem to round out about a week before they hatch, and they will seem to sweat [sometimes, but not always] for about a day or so just before they hatch.

you could try candeling them to see if there are babies inside, though at this stage you may only see shadow. to candle the egg you need to get a small pen light, and hold it under the egg until you can see through it, usually this is done really early on, but you can do it up to hatching to check on the progress. if it is all shadowy and dark, there is a baby in there [at an earlier stage, if the egg has a pink 0 in it, that means it is fertile, if it is just completely yellow, it is not fertile, but it can take a few days for the vein to show up, so always hold on to them!] if you don’t have a pin light, you can get a piece of cardboard and poke a small hole in it so that the light only comes out of that hole while using a regular flashlight, and do the same thing.

i hope everything works out!
lol and keep us updated!

Keep them tell they stink to high heaven and are black. =) lol thats what I do anyways. I don’t mind a little smell in the incubator as long at there is a chance of a baby gecko! tehe.

Thanks for the quick reply. The eggs have grown and they are roundish, but they have been like that since day 75. Will keep you posted on the out come. Once again thanks for the reply.

What’s the approximate temperature they’re at? At 68 degrees, 100 days is rather standard.
