 My new baby.....

I just picked this little one up last week. She’s on the CGD and I got her the magnetic shelf too. I’m still waiting for the cups. They’ll be here Monday. Anyway, here’s a few pictures of her. Would anybody have an idea on how old she is? Can the be sexed when they’re this small?



Here’s her tank.



Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

not sure on the age b/c it can vary from gecko to gecko

the best way is to go by weight if it is at least 12 g they usually start shing male signs and you can tell if it is deff male

but some males are "late bloomers" and dont show sighns of their male parts until later so to really be sure 23g is a more accurate weight to determine male or female

then you can be sure it is a female

you can get a cheep scale at walmart to keep track of his/her weight

does she have a name yet?

Nope. No name yet. I might wait until I can accurately sex her. She weighs 5 grams right now, so I guess the bulges wouldn’t really be there yet if she was a he. Oh well, either way I love my new crestie. They’re up at the top of my favorite lizard list now.

i know i looove them they are so easy to care for and they have the most adorable faces

i adore them and i want to get a bunch more just need a bigger tank lol

next i want a super tiny baby

we got one in at our store that is only like an inch long

Around 5 grams, you can sex them with a 30x loupe. However, it can be a little difficult if you’ve never sexed one that way before. If s/he’s around 5 grams, I’d guess an age of about 4 months.

My Goldie escaped while I was cleaning her tank out. She was in one of those plastic critter cages and when I opened it to put her back in her tank she took off under the bed. By the time I got the bed moved she was gone. I found her about 2 weeks later crawling on my bedroom wall (which was surprising since I have 2 cats). I took her to the vet because she was pretty dehydrated and skinny. The vet tech fell in love with her, so I told her she could have her. She was too skittish to be able to last long in my house. One more escape and I’m sure she wouldn’t have been as lucky. BTW, I paid the vet bill too. I will also NEVER mix species. =)

lol, they should have paid or it. You just gave them a gecko that they would have had to do that to anyways, lol. Im glad hes safe.
