Gecko burrowing? i don’t have experience with any geckos but he should check his temps if they’re too high he may be trying to escape the heat.

Gecko burrowing? okay ill let him know but i doubt thats the case for this gecko. they dont have any kind of heat source on the cage and its not near a window so the cage is the same temp as their house. if their house went up to 80+ i think they would know it. but if they turn the air conditioning off while they are at work then that is possible.

Gecko burrowing? Any chance he just got the gecko within the last couple weeks? I have noticed that mine will bury themselves in the substrate for the first couple weeks after I get them. After they are settled in they tend to stay up higher.

Gecko burrowing? he got the gecko 4-6 weeks ago i think. he got the gecko when it was 8 weeks old and now its 3- 3 1/2 months old.
that might be the reason. mine didnt do that so i didnt know what to tell him. ill let him know that yours did.

Gecko burrowing? it could be that the gecko feels it doesnt have a secure enough hiding spot higher up in the tank

Gecko burrowing? It could be that the tank isn’t humid enough. Geckos will do that if they don’t have enough humidity. (unless the gecko already burrows naturally but cresteds don’t)
I would try misting it more. (I minimum of once a day)

Gecko burrowing? my baby does that too. i was going to post a new thread but found this one. he burries himself under a patch of peat moss. the humidity is good and im sure the temp is good too. i think the lack of hide is it. i have live plants and branches so i use a uvb for the plants and to simulate a natural cycle. si i think the light bugs him out. at first he would just sit there and fall asleep inder the light but. i added a coco hide that was in a snake tank. ( i did wash it but only with hot water ) and thats the day he burrowed. i thought it was because he smelt the snake on the hide. so i took it out. he didnt use it he burrowed on the opposite side of the vivarium
