If I put a ten gallon on its side with a screen top, would it be big enough for a crestie?

That looks good. But as Froogies said, you will need 20 gallons for one of them when they are adults. If you are planning to keep them together their whole lives, a 29 gallon will suit them nicely.

yes you do need the 20.....i have a 20 than a 50 to put them in as they grow.......
