 Female Agression

I have two females in a 33 gal. tank, and one of them was being agressive to the other for some reason. So i decided to split them up, which i did a couple months ago, by dividing the tank. My question is, why did was one being agressive?

Any help will be greatly apreciated.

even two females may not get along they are just more likly too than males

who knows why they were fighting, only they know for sure it could be a food thing or a favorite spot they both like to sleep in its hard to say for sure unless you actually see them being aggressive at a certain time
