 A lot of questions

I just got a 40 gallon tank but now I’m broke and I have to work of 25 dollars. I’m so excited. I got one of those food dish in a net with suction cup things from zoo med. I have been hand feeding soda pop ever since I had him, and now he is getting kind of skittish so I bought one of those net food things.. how can I be sure hes actually eating out of it though? sorry if this was hard to read I’m just soo excited!!

 A lot of questions

The easiest way to tell is if they poop and pee. If you see new urates on the leaves or the bottom of the tank- it is a good sign that he is poopin. Its harder to see the poops on Eco earth- but if your guy is larger like mine- its not so hard as the poops are bigger than the grains of eco earth.

 A lot of questions

Thank you, but it doesn’t matter anymore!!! I saw him eating last night when I was going to get a drink! He likes bananas, so I’ll have to keep that in mind. I’m so happy to know he is eating, and that I don’t have to hand feed him anymore, because I think he was getting a bit stressed from that. This is what I’m going to feed him every night from now on, so tell me if it sounds all right.
CGD
Bananas
Peeled Blueberries
Mushed Strawberries
Mushed Peaches
Mushed Nectarines
Mushed Watermelon

I think (s)he will be a happy gecko. If any of these foods sound wrong, tell me.

Another question, If it is a female would it be OK to add another female? It is a 40 gallon tank. Thanks.

 A lot of questions

Your gecko should only be eating CGD (with an occasional cricket if you choose).
Adding fruits into the diet does not give them the nutrition they need. Make it easier for your self and healthier for your gecko and stick to CGD.

I agree. My gecko is perfectly happy with her CGD and since other fruits arent needed I don’t even bother with them. Plus the diet can be more balanced with just sticking to the CGD.

 A lot of questions

I only feed fruit once a week... I figure he gets bored if he’s eating the same thing every day.
