 Im hopping soon

Soon I am going to be raising and breeding Crested Geckos. I need to know if 1 female and 1 male juvie can live together even if their not sexually mature. Also what size tank would they be able to live in when they are babies and when they are adults? I thought that they needed mesh cages. I guess no by looking at your peoples pictures. Please help!

Before starting a breeding project, you should be familiar with the animal you are trying to breed.

Once you can tell the different between the male and female cresteds, you should probably separate them because they may try to breed and will not be ready. Females should not be bred until they are abt a year old and weigh 35 grams (I think it is).

Babies - no larger than a 10 gallon tank.

Yeah they need to be at least 35 grams. They will breed at a smaller size, but then they will be more suseptible to sudden crashes/metabolic bone disease that can lead to death.

Just a note: sometimes when a female first becomes sexually mature she may produce her first clutch of eggs, but usually not a second.

--And don稚 forget to add a cooling period

In a medium or large one, yes.
A lot of people keep them in those plastic shoebox containers.. modified for ventilation..

Well I壇 move them to a 10 gallon when they池e abt four inches long.
I suppose that they値l start to eat within 24 hours of hatching, but the amount would be so small you probably wouldn稚 notice it.

I would mix the babyfood with CGD. You could also offer very very small crickets if you had any.
