Housing question? i’m thinking about getting into crested geckos, but i was wondering if it’s alright to house a male and female together? i saw a pair the other day in the back room of the petstore i go to and i started talking to the owner about them. he said he just got them in, they are an adult pair of orange dalmations, and they’re being sold with an enclosure for $200. they were originally sold together as babies, and have always lived together. the guy who owned them before just traded them back to the petstore owner for a boa. so i was wondering if it would be okay to continue to house them together? since they both appear to be in great condition
thanks

Housing question?
unless you want to have eggs i wouldn’t house them together until your ready to breed. And if you do decide to keep them together i would keep them in a minimum of a 20 gallon high tank. If you separate them i would give them each there own 16 gallon tank until your ready to breed.

Housing question? i know that they will breed if they’re kept together, and i’m prepared for that, i was just wondering if it would be harmful for the female to be kept with the male. also, they are full grown adults, so i’d definetely be getting something bigger than a 10 gal.

Housing question?
yea good idea i think a 5 gallon tank is way to small for to adults. so is a ten gallon for two adults. oh yea but you were wondering if it would be safe to keep them together. I would separate them for a little bit of the year like a couple months a year because the female can get stressed out if its over breed by the male. or i think you can just lower the temperatures and they would stop breeding i believe..
