Change of plans?
Hey everyone, I was originally going to get a crested gecko, but my house is too hot. I read they require similar caging and food, but are more tolerant of high temps. My house gets about 80*F on average, and I have trouble keeping the humidity above 45%.My mother won’t let me keep crickets in the house. But I remember reading about a substitute for gargoyles, can I keep them on that and fruit?I was going to do that with the crested gecko.Do I sound eligible for a gargoyle?

Hey if there isn’t a substitute can I feed them fresh, vitamin enriched, canned crickets. My mother doesn’t mind that.

Change of plans? They can be a LITTLE hotter, but enough enough to count. If your house gets too hot for a crested gecko, it’s too hot for a gargoyle gecko.

Change of plans? Gargs and cresties are kept just about the same.We have both and care for them the same. We mist them twice a day. They both eat cgd. Those diets have all the vitamins and calcium in it. Bugs in a can is never a good choice. I also have a crestie that won’t eat crickets.

Change of plans? Yeah I hate to say it but all Rhacodactylus have pretty much the same care requirements and definetly the same heat requirements. If you want a higher heat tolerant gecko look outside the forest dwellers and lean toward scrubland and desert species. Leopard Geckos, Banded Geckos, Sand Eye Geckos, etc.
