I have a care book for cresties and.... I asked the same question. I was told that it is not a good idea. The gargoyles are supposed to be a little more aggressive or nippy and you will most likely end up with tailess cresteds. Make sure they’re the same size. Babies can become a meal. Go to the pangea reptiles forum and do a search.

I have a care book for cresties and.... I wouldnt put them together. With any species its never a good idea to mix, even since gargs and cresties have practically the same needs, except gargoyles need a little more protein in their diet I believe. Like said, gargoyles are more agressive. Even if theyre the same size, as babies or juvies or whatever the gargoyle will grow larger, most likely because I think gargoyles get a little bigger than cresties. I wouldnt mix them.

I have a care book for cresties and.... Yea its generally said that the goyles are more agressive and will bully the crestie, so its a no.
You can keep chahouas in with them though apparently, and they live on the same trees in the wild so its not thought there are parasite problems etc

I have a care book for cresties and.... I would not keep cresteds with a gargoyle. I keep my male gargoyle next to my sandfish tank. I eventually had to put a towel in between the tanks because my gargoyle kept lunging at the glass whenever the sandfish came out.

I have a care book for cresties and.... Gargoyles are said to be tail chompers. If you do want to mix species of rhacodactylus, your best bet would be chahouas and cresties (just make sure you get a really big tank, multiple hides, and multiple food bowls). It is never good to mix, but if you really really really want do, I would say mix chahouas (they seem to get along fine, producing chahouaXcrested hybrids).
