 Heat lamp

how Meany hours shud the heat lamp be on for i have set it up on a timer to come on at 8am and go of at 11pm

12 hour cycle. 8 hour cycle during the winter months if you want to simulate the seasons.

thanks for advice can you tell me why one off my golden geckos is tame she will let me put stuff in her tank and do spot checks and not run and hide but my other gg {in a seprent tank} will run and hide every time i enter the room this one is male he just keeps hiding and do you know is there eney way i can tame him so i can look at him without scaring him to much thanks

The short answer is that different individuals have different personalities, and I don’t really recommend trying to tame your gecko. Remember how much bigger you are than these guys...especially if they’ve been wild caught, chances are when he sees you he thinks you’re there to eat him so he runs and hides, it’s just a natural instinct.

You’ll never really get him tame, but with some time and patience you may get him to trust you. DO NOT pick him up out of his tank unless you absolutely have to. That’ll stress him out more than anything. You can try tong feeding him, and hopefully with time doing this, he will come to realize that you’re there to feed him, and not to eat him, and you may start to see him more, however I can’t guarantee this.
